Melinda’s Story

My name is Melinda and I am 28 years old. I started drinking and using drugs at age 13. It started out small and escalated from there. I was in and out of jain for many years because of my drug problems and was sent to prison in 2017. I got released on parole to Doors of Hope and it has helped me beyond belief. They have done so much to help me reshape my life and help me in my recovery.

“I believe this program has saved my life.”

Beyond that, they have provided so many resources and to get your life back on track with the help of a recovery coach and a life coach. With Doors of Hope’s help I am in the process of getting my kids back. I am proud to say that over the past 7 months I have been able to see my kids often and even get to keep them overnight. Because of Doors of Hope, I get to rebuild my relationship with my children. Doors of Hope also helped me see my own worth and taught me to finally love myself again. I believe this program has saved my life.

With the help of Doors of Hope I now hold a full time job, have a car, completely off parole, have visitation with my children and attend NA meetings regularly. Life is going great for me and I have Doors of Hope and their staff to thank for making all of this possible.
