Women’s Reentry and Recovery Program

Transforming lives within our community

Doors of Hope provides recovery and life skills training during incarceration, helping prepare women for the challenges they will face upon reentry. Once they return to the community, we offer safe and supportive housing for women while they rebuild their lives in the context of a community-based recovery environment. Our case managers, therapists, and recovery specialists offer a safe, trauma-informed, recovery-based environment where women embark on a journey toward health and wholeness. We offer hope to women who choose to embrace recovery through the practice of life-affirming values. In our community, we see reduced recidivism rates as women grow into their unique and beautiful potential.

Positive Reformation

The process of building a sober lifestyle includes recovery meetings, counseling sessions, and building community with people who support the decision to get sober.

Mental Health Counseling

Trauma informed licensed counselors work with our clients to set goals and develop approaches to addressing emotional issues, improve coping and communication skills, increase self-esteem, and promote positive and supportive changes in behavior. Our mental health counselors provide individual and group sessions for each client.

Transitional Housing

Doors of Hope provides a safe and supportive transitional housing environment for women with substance use who are either justice-involved or who are experiencing homelessness. Women reside in one of our multiple housing units for the duration of the program, where we provide them with intensive and high quality treatment and recovery support to address their unique needs over a 12 month period.

Peer Recovery Coaching

The Peer Recovery coach offers valuable insight through lived experience and their own achievement of sustained recovery through the twelve-step process. The recovery coach conducts one-on-one weekly meetings in which each woman learns about the recovery process. This includes sponsorship, meeting attendance, homework,, building a recovery network,, completing the twelve steps, giving back to others, and how to achieve and maintain long-term recovery.

Job Training and Placement

Statistics show that 67% of those released without assistance will be re-incarcerated within three years. Women who complete the Doors of Hope Reentry and Recovery Program are reincarcerated at a rate of just 3%. We provide job readiness training, resume building, job training, and placement support.
